Multi-purpose concert and congress hall

The Vatroslav Lisinski hall in Zagreb entered the new musical season with a completely new sound system. An 18-month period of planning resulted in the visually brilliant and superb sound system capable to support the most demanding concert performances that take place in this extremely acoustic hall with 1.850 seats. However, it doesn't all end with concerts. Today the system can cover movie premieres in surround technology, multimedia presentations and congresses using video projections, intelligent lighting and digital systems for simultaneous interpretations.

The entire sound system is digital, starting with the audio signal distribution from the digital sound desk, to digitally managing every single element of the FOH sound system, stage monitoring and surround sound system.

A total of 20 line arrays in the FOH system of the JBL Vertec series and sound system VP series in one cluster precisely cover every seating place in the hall from the first row to the last one under the speakers’ booths. Five BSS Soundweb London DSP processors cover simultaneous distribution of the digital audio signal by optics with three digital sound desks, Dolby processors and digital system for simultaneous interpretation. The system of 18 wireless microphones AKG WMS-4000 Series, 20 monitor amplifiers Crown CTs Series and 16 monitor sound systems JBL SRX Series, VRX Series and VP Series provide musicians with a state of the art technology crucial for their performance. The entire audio system is covered by Harman PRO HiQnet protocol from the FOH sound desk, monitoring sound desk or wireless from any location in the hall.

On the two new 19 x 9,5m and 13 x 6m motorized electric projection screens the image comes from the existing film projector or the new, 22.000 ANSI lumen Digital Projection video projector. The completely digitalised DIS system for simultaneous interpretation with digital distribution on 1.200 digital receivers provides the congress participants with high quality reception, and the new Martin MAC 700 and MAC 1200 colour changers light up the stage. The AMX control system controls the video system, and 20 km of the new audio, video and network installations unites this complex system into an integrated unit of this beautiful, from now on, not only a concert hall.
